You may have been familiar with The Elder Scrolls saga with Skyrim, its fifth installment, but the Bethesda IP has been around since the mid-1990s. And be careful, let’s not forget that The Elder Scrolls VI is in development for Xbox Series X | S and PC, although we still don’t know when it will be released.
In the meantime, what better than to marathon this emblematic role-playing saga? In that case you can start with The Elder Scrolls Arena, the first installment that is available for FREE on Steam.
If you are looking for something more direct, you may prefer to start with its second part, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. This sequel is also free on Steam, in addition to GOG, where you can also enjoy a remastered (and free) version with the Unity engine.

The Elder Scrolls V modder community is one of the most talented on the internet. They are currently working on of the expected mods for Skyrimwhich bring back the best elements of the third and fourth installments of the franchise.
Is about Skywind y Skyblivion, mods that recover the main plots of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Of course, you will have to wait until at least 2024 or 2025.
To liven up the wait, you can also rock Skygerfall, a mod for Skyrim that rescues the entire main plot of Daggerfall. It’s shorter and less ambitious than the two mods already mentioned, but it’s a good option if you’re not into classic games.
Skygerfall is a gigantic mod that incorporates all main quests and characters from Daggerfall, but keeping the Skyrim engine. Come on, it’s like a remake of the 1996 game.
Of course, the bad thing is that you will not be able to enjoy Daggerfall in its entirety. Side missions are not included.Neither do guilds, the Dark Brotherhood, arcane temples, or witches.
The Skygerfall mod incorporates 20 additional hours of gameplay for Skyrim. You will discover classic characters like Sheogorath or Mannimarco, with the goal of liberating the wild lands in the name of Emperor Uriel Septim VII.
The most interesting thing is that Skygerfall works as an origin story for your character. Before starting the Skyrim journey, your character lives an unprecedented adventure (set 200 years before), with the possibility of importing spells, items and abilities from the Skygerfall mod into Skyrim.
