QJ Enginea Geely Technology Group company that we have come to know, attended the Guangzhou Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, 133rd China Import and Export Fair. Simply for us the Canton Fair. It is an exhibition that covers the beauty of 1.5 million square meters and which has something like 35,000 exhibitors. Therefore, a company like QJ Motor could not be missing, which now sells in seventy countries (!!) and which took the opportunity to show some previews that could also arrive on our market. In particular the electric sports car OAO.
OAO, i.e. sporty and electric
Based on the SAI endothermic series, the OAO it stands out for a specific design and with even more futuristic details underlined by the LED lights, the DRL as an aesthetic element and the direction indicators integrated into the shapes of the fairing. At first glance it simply looks like a modern sports car and instead it is driven by an all-electric power unit that rightly finds its place in the central part of the bike to centralize the masses. The thing that is certainly original is the presence of a four-speed gearbox complete with a clutch to make the driving experience similar to that of traditional endothermics. There power is 5 kW with a peak of 10 kW – so it could be homologated as a 125 – but the maximum torque is 650 Nm. The petrol tank has become a compartment capable of accommodating a full-face helmet and the weight of the OAO is 144 kg with a seat height of 780 mm. We don’t have battery capacity data, but the manufacturer says a maximum range of 190 km and 3.5 hours to recharge from zero to eighty percent.
The most awaited: the SRT800
The SRT800 it is an adventure that we have already had the opportunity to see at EICMA and is eagerly awaited on our market also in the Benelli-branded configuration. However, it is worthwhile to quickly review its characteristics: parallel twin 745cc, Euro 5, DOHC, 8 valvesliquid-cooled, with 75 CV a 8.500 giri/min and 67Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The gearbox is six-speed, the assisted clutch has slipper and the final drive is chain. The four-piston calipers are Brembo and work on 320 mm discs at the front while at the rear we find a 260 mm disc and single-piston caliper. Of course, the two-channel Bosch ABS is not missing. The SRT800X version comes standard with three aluminum cases and is now eagerly awaited in Italy as well.
