Ever since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hit stores, the gaming community has been experimenting with the game’s systems, most notably with that new feature of create objects by merging two stage elements. From there have come such disturbing ideas as torture machines for kologs or a combat helicopter, but both have become obsolete in a matter of days. Modern warfare has come to Hyrule at the hands of the Metal Gear Rexthe most iconic of the nuclear tanks that give name to Hideo Kojima’s game series.

While there are players who have not yet left the tutorial, there are others who are already plotting world domination under the nuclear threat of the Metal Gear. We don’t know if that was in Nintendo’s plans when he devised this mechanic, or what Kojima will think of his anti-war message have had the opposite effect.

It’s not as big as the real Metal Gear Rex, but hey, it’s still a complete madness on a technical level that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has such a functional item creation system and that the game doesn’t blow up. Nintendo has once again given everything a masterclass in innovation in game development.
Since its premiere in the past May 12 On Nintendo Switch, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has already sold over 10 million games, although peace may soon end in Hyrule when Solid Snake shows up to take down that Metal Gear Rex and the game transforms into a game of Super Smash Bros Ultimate upon meeting Snake and Link’s faces.
