Suara.com – The registration of prospective legislative candidates (bacaleg) in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java on Saturday (13/5/2023) has attracted public attention.
That’s because each party chairman and legislature head went to the Banyuwangi General Election Commission (KPU) office in an unusual way, namely by riding a Rubicon luxury car and riding a horse.
But unfortunately the euphoria of the joy of registering for legislative candidates from the two parties was short-lived because the Banyuwangi Election Commission rejected both files.

Euphoria came to the KPU
On Saturday (13/5/2023) yesterday, the PKB Banyuwangi Branch Leadership Council (DPC) registered its candidates. The group rode on various modes of transportation to accompany the registration of candidates for the party made by Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin.
The chairman of the Banyuwangi National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Malik Syafaat, came with his entourage in a black Rubicon luxury car. The delegation consisted of party officials, cadres to legislative candidates.
Not only luxury cars, the Banyuwangi PKB elite group also came to the Banyuwangi KPU Office using tronton trucks. Dozens of PKB administrators and sympathizers seemed happy to welcome the 2024 democratic party.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Banyuwangi Gerindra Party, Naufal Badri, came to the Banyuwangi KPU Office on a blackish brown horse. He even carried a baton as a sign of the supreme leader of Gerindra on his horse.

The reason for the application for the PKB Bacaleg was rejected
However, the euphoria of joy was not comparable to the expected results. This is because the registration documents submitted by the PKB were returned by the Banyuwangi KPU because the physical files and files uploaded in the candidacy application (Silon) were not appropriate.
The chairman of the Banyuwangi KPU, Dwi Angraeni, revealed that the discrepancy was found in the serial number of the candidates. It seems that there is a difference in the data submitted by the PKB DPP via silon and the physical data submitted by the PKB DPC to the Banyuwangi KPU.
However, there is still time for improvement, namely Sunday (14/5/2023), the last day of registration for the Legislative Council. Regarding this, Gus Malik said that his party would immediately carry out the repairs
Reasons why the Gerindra Bacaleg application file was rejected
Meanwhile, the Gerindra Party nomination file was returned by Banyuwangi Election Commission with incomplete reasons. This is because the DPP Gerindra DPP Gerindra Banyuwangi has not pocketed the Decree (SK) for the approval of the latest list of legislative candidates.
“The SK we brought is still the old one, it hasn’t been revised. This is purely a technical error, there was a mistake,” said Naufal Badri.
Then Naufal said that the composition of the Gerindra DPC candidates was complete in all electoral districts. With a total of 50 candidates, the participation of female candidates is 30 percent. This has to be done for change.
