These scams mainly aim at the possibility of obtaining a driver’s license, whose technical name is a driving license, avoiding having to do the classic procedures that we know: neither theoretical nor practical exam or maneuvers.
They promise the card without examination in the DGT
The General Directorate of Traffic has had to issue a notice warning of the modus operandi of these fraudsters, recalling that it is Impossible to get a driving license without taking the corresponding tests.
In recent times, the DGT points out, there has been an increase in the number of Internet pages that offer to obtain a driving license without the need to take any type of knowledge test. Not even non-EU foreigners who already have one can exchange it for a Spanish one without an exchange agreement. If there is no exchange agreement with the country of origin, it is mandatory to pass a theoretical and a practical exam.

He Central Research and Analysis Group (GIAT Central) of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard has been in charge of the investigation. For weeks he has been exploring a series of web pages that offer a “legal” Spanish driving license simply by paying a certain amount of money. Generally, it is requested about 850 euros for the B card (the car one).
This amount may be attractive to future drivers, who, taking into account driving school fees, practical classes, medical examination and examination fees, see that it comes out much more to accountin addition to the comfort of not having to do anything to achieve it, saving yourself the effort.
Obviously it’s a scam
The main objective of these scammers seems to be mainly immigrants whom they try to deceive before they know the regulations, making them think that it is possible to obtain a driving license without taking any prior examination, for which reason Traffic insists on making it clear that this is impossible.
Regarding the procedure to capture these victims, they are usually advertised on the Internet, providing only a mobile phone number as the only way of contact. When the interested party calls the number, all the complete information is requested (name, surname, ID, date of birth, etc.) in addition to a photograph of the holder and another of the signature. Apparently, everything that would be needed to issue the plastic driver’s license (remember that it can already be carried digitally in the DGT app).
Finally, an account number is provided to which a bank transfer must be made. As expected, after receiving the money they disappear without a tracestopping answering on the mobile phone and making temporary web pages disappear.
