However, during an interview with an editor of Kimetsu No Yaiba, a very disturbing detail has been revealed, and that is that Tanjiro’s original design was completely opposite to what is currently known in the seriesBecause, as incredible as it may seem, the plans for the dear and kind protagonist were initially different.
Through the interview with Tatsuhiko Katayama, editor of Kimetsu No Yaiba, this revelation has been made known, because the original design of Tanjiro that Koyoharu Gotouge had done was more gloomy and darkvery different from Tanjiro’s current personality, since the mangaka had planned to make a darker work with few humorous sequences.
He Tanjiro’s original design also had scars and was a swordsman. However, her look was very cold and dark with a personality obviously opposite to the current one, according to the plans that Gotouge initially had for his protagonist.
And it is that Gotouge had based this work on one of his already pre-established one-shots manga called “Ka Gari Gari”, so he started from that idea to give life to “Kisatsu no Nagare” the name that the series would initially bear. However, was not approved for its very serious and dark tone.
This detail gave way to the current Kamado Tanjiro, since at Katayama’s request, Gotouge had to redesign the protagonistcompletely changing his personality, making him more cheerful and different, resulting in the dear and kind Tanjiro.
