It is not the first one writers strike in Hollywood it slows down the premiere of the series and movies most anticipated by fans. The context of this is different, but since the beginning of May we have seen how great titles have come to a complete halt, as has been the case with the filming of the end of Stranger Things, or other well-known titles such as Blade, Cobra Kai… And the worst is that there is no date for the end of the strike.
In 2007, the famous writers’ strike took place that, at the time, affected series such as The Office, Breaking Bad o Perdidos, among other titles. Well, now the problem has increased since we live in the era of streaming platforms. So the number of movies and series has multiplied. For this reason, Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, Apple TV have been affected.
Series and movies that will take time to premiere
Within the affected titles, we find some movies and series most anticipated by fans. Although, it has also affected the great television programs in the United States such as The Tonight Show, con Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show, among others. For this very reason, we have made a compilation with some of the productions that have been paralyzed during the strike of the US writers union.
The Duffer brothers have made it clear that filming for season 5 of the well-known Netflix series will not start until the strike ends. Even so, its premiere is expected to continue for 2024 on the streaming platform, although it is most likely that be delayed at least a couple of months.
The season 6 of the Netflix series also closes its doors in solidarity with its colleagues until the strike ends, as announced by the co-creator of this title, Jon Hurwitz.

Even George RR Martin has also confirmed that the writers’ room for the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’, known as ‘The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Errant Knight‘, is closed for the moment. So there are several productions that will be released later than expected due to this break that does not have an end date.
