The design of the GIVI S510 D-Charge makes it possible to achieve respectable performance in charge/maintenance operations; extends battery life up to 4 times and reaches maximum efficiency in terms of energy consumption. Proposed mainly to the two-wheeler sector, it has characteristics that make it suitable for operation with other vehicles, including cars.
Compatibility
The accessory proposed by GIVI dialogues with all types of traditional 12 V batteries (Lead acid, MF, GEL AGM) and with the latest generation 12 V Lithium batteries with both Lithium-ion and LiFePO4 technology, 1.2 Ah up to 100Ah.
An integrated temperature sensor allows the activation of the POLAR function, a mode that allows correct recharging even at low temperatures.
Lithium batteries
The charge and maintenance algorithm that manages this type of battery works on 7 cycles in an intelligent and 100% automatic way. The indicated cycles are: initialization, recovery (starting from a minimum of 1.25V), light charge, bulk charge, analysis, maintenance and equalization.
Lead acid batteries
The charge and maintenance algorithm that manages conventional batteries follows an automatism similar to that seen previously, adding an important cycle (8); the desulphation. In short, through a process that uses current pulses, the sulphates are removed from the lead plates (they are crystals that invalidate the electrochemical process), restoring the battery to its functionality.
