According to a report by Giant Freaking Robot, Aubrey Plaza is being considered as the best choice” to play the villain in the third Sonic movie. This choice comes after Jim Carrey announced that he was leaving his role as Dr. Robotnik last year. Aubrey Plaza is known for her participation in series such as Parks and Recreation and The White Lotus. She has also played villainous roles before, such as Shadow King on the FX series Legion. Plaza is also set to take part in the upcoming MCU series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, in a potentially similar role. She thinks she could play Rouge the Bat, giving his voice to the character. There aren’t many more villains in Sonic.
