There is a chance that no Sinterklaas entry will be held in Staphorst this year and possibly also in the following years. The council examines whether an entry can proceed safely and respectfully. That will happen in September. If there are any doubts about this, the municipality will set a cooling-off period of one or more years, during which no public entry may be organized in Staphorst. Staphorst follows an advice from independent researchers, who have investigated for the municipality why the entry on November 19 last year ended in serious violence.
