The trailer opens, lightning pierces the sky and a familiar voice accompanies us during the presentation of Secret Invasion, the new TV series belonging to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, streaming on Disney+ starting next June 21st.
The series will see the great protagonist Nick Furythis time in never-before-seen guises, as he fights off an alien invasion by shape-shifting Skrulls without his Avengers.
Nick Fury will certainly not be completely alone, on the contrary, but he will have new and old allies alongside him, such as Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who will frame the journey that will see the Marvel hero as the undisputed protagonist of this exciting new adventure.
The trailer doesn’t tell us much, but it already suggests the importance that this series could have within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At the end of it all, the slow ticking of the hands of a clock accompanies the slow and heavy step of Nick Fury, who calls his last battle against a pale background.
We will therefore see a completely new Nick Fury played by the superb Samuel L. Jackson, flanked by actors that we have already had the pleasure of seeing in Marvel films: just think of Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir , Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, or even Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman and Don Cheadle.
Behind the scenes the direction is in the hands of Ali Selim (Criminal Minds and The Calling), for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe also in the role of executive producer together with Kevin Feige, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito and many other figures who they complete a respectable team.
A new cycle within the saga is announced, and we just have to wait to see what surprises Secret Invasion will reserve for us.
