The Last of Us series had a truly spectacular reception when it made the leap to HBO. Joel and Ellie’s story had a great impact on the audience and much of it was due to its direct and raw arguments to tell us the reality that the characters were living. However, its creators have said that the second season will be even better.
The first season was a resounding success. during the first six episodes it enjoyed an average of 30.4 million viewers. Something that places the series as one of the most watched and with the highest average since the seventh season of Game of Thrones, a series that aired in 2017. Despite this, remember that season 2 might not be the last …
The Last of Us season 2 will be even more spectacular
This is how their showrunners have made it known in an interview for Deadline. So fans of the video game and especially of the series can rest easy; apparently everything will be well measured and done with love. It is already something that we have been able to see during the adaptation of the first season, but if you had been left wanting more, go prepare yourselves for what is to come.
We are going to push the technology that we are using. We’ve learned a lot during this time, especially with regards to the infected and how to best do scenes with them. So now we just want to go up.
However, although they want to continue growing, Craig Mazin has also commented that the process of doing things is not going to change. They are going to push themselves and ask the actors to continue to give absolutely everything they have, so we may see an undeniable quality increase in the second season of the series. Just look at the great job they did with the Clickers sound.
Speaking of the process, Neil and I are clear that we are not going to change anything. Of course we are going to continue to make an effort in absolutely everything, and our actors are also going to have to work even harder. As they get older and as time goes on… How will this affect the way they fight? What happens when the world gets more dangerous and physical?
As you can read, we are going to have a significant time jump between the first season and the second, so it makes sense that the protagonists have to work a little harder when it comes to offering us a really polished role in this new installment. Of course, Bella Ramsey will continue to play Ellie despite the criticism received. We cannot deny that the young actress has played a perfect role during the first season of The Last of Us.
