The fifth round of the Misano Adriatico Superbike World Championship is approaching, but the market is still taking the lead. After saying goodbye to Toprak Razgatlioglu, who has decided to try the BMW adventure, the Yamaha confirms Andrea Locatelli for another two years. The rider from Bergamo had also been contacted by the KRT Kawasaki Team, intending to replace Alex Lowes when his contract expires. However, Andrea preferred to stay with the house of the three tuning forks, also because without the Turk he could become the number one of the Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK Team. In this way, Yamaha confirms its interest in the derivative world championships, where for years it has created a chain that starts from the R3 Cup and continues through Supersport 300 and Supersport, up to Superbike.
Let’s stay in the Kawasaki area because Manuel Puccetti’s team has decided who will replace Tom Sykes, who in turn moved to the Munich outfit to replace the injured Michael Van der Mark. He will be the former 2014 Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat to take the ZX-10RR of the Reggio Emilia team to the track.
After the refusal by the two young Italians Luca Bernardi and Gabriele Giannini, Manuel Puccetti has decided to focus on the experience of the Spaniard who has just won a Spanish Superbike race, who will however have to give up the SBK round of Magny Cours, given the concomitance with the world championship of electric motorcycles in Misano.
And speaking of the Misano World Circuit, there are currently four Italian wild cards that will take part in next weekend’s races. The leader of the CIV SS standings Marco Bussolotti and the former Moto2 rider Simone Corsi have been admitted to Supersport, while the talented Bruno Ieraci and Emanuele Cazzaniga, national protagonists, will have a world chance in the Supersport 300.
