Canadian actress Samantha Weinstein has passed away after a two and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 28 years old. Weinstein was best known for playing high schooler Heather in the 2013 remake of Carrie directed by Kimberly Peirce. A photo was posted to Weinstein’s Instagram page, with the caption: “After two and a half years of cancer treatment and a lifetime of jet-setting around the world, giving voice to a plethora of animals from the cartoons, making music and learning more about life than most people ever will, she set off on her next adventure.”
