Russia Claims Destroyed 650 Ukrainian Fighters and Helicopters. PHOTOS/TASS
MOSCOW – The team Russia has destroyed more than 650 warplanes and helicopters Ukraine since the start of special military operations in Ukraine. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, Thursday (11/5/2023).
“In total, the following targets have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation: 421 aircraft, 230 helicopters, 4,074 unmanned aerial vehicles,” Konashenkov said, as quoted by TASS.
As well as aircraft, Russian troops reportedly destroyed 421 surface-to-air missile systems, 9,069 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,098 multiple rocket launchers, 4,787 field artillery weapons and mortars and 10,124 special military motorized vehicles.
It is also reported that Russian forces destroyed around 125 Ukrainian soldiers and an ammunition depot in the Kupyansk area over the past few days.
“In the Kupyansk direction, aircraft and artillery from the western battle group attacked units of the Ukrainian army in the area near the settlements of Dvurechnaya and Timkovka in the Kharkov and Novosyolovskoye Regions of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” Konashenkov said.
“Enemy losses in the last 24 hours totaled 125 Ukrainian Personnel, four motorized vehicles and an Akatsiya motorized artillery system. In addition, in the residential area of Neskuchnoye in the Kharkov Region, the ammunition depot of the 67th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army was destroyed,” the spokesman continued.
The senior general also stated that Russian troops had neutralized a Ukrainian subversive/reconnaissance group near the settlement of Ivanovka in the Kharkov Region.
“Russian warplanes and artillery struck Ukrainian army units in the Krasny Liman area, eliminating around 65 enemy soldiers over the past few days,” Konashenkov reported.
“In the direction of Krasny Liman, operational/tactical aviation and ground forces and artillery from the Battlegroup Center attacked enemy units in the area near the settlements of Nevskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova in Lugansk People’s Republic and Serebryanka in Donetsk People’s Republic,” the spokesman said.
