From 9 to 11 June Fiera Roma is organizing “Ride On”, a party dedicated to motorcycles, music and solidarity. Tthree days to bring together motorcyclists from central Italy under the banner of fun, safety, solidarity and, of course, passion for motorbikes.
Many activities are proposed. For those who love to ride two wheels it is being defined an intense driving schedule between Rome and its province (participation is free for those who purchase the Ride On ticket in presale). We start with the night run on Friday 9 organized in collaboration with the State Police Moto Club. In the Saturday morning 10 the itinerary is planned “Under Elena’s Eyes”: in a sort of homage to Rome on two wheels, hundreds of bikers dressed as ancient Romans will parade from Fiera Roma to the Circus Maximus, where they will be able to admire a philological historical re-enactment of imperial Rome (open to the whole city) organized by the Civiltà Associations Romana and Auxilia Legionis Aps. In the days of Saturday 10 and Sunday 11will also take place runs organized in collaboration with Moto for Peace, Moto Club Roma and Motorday CC (for more details www.motodays.it).
Ride On is also an excellent opportunity to try out new motorcycle models: in fact, there will be demo rides of 2023 models of important brands. Among others, will be present with the Yamaha range the official dealer of the Japanese house Faieta Motors.
In addition to the Yahama brand, they will be present on trial Kawasaki, Moto Morini, Fanticwith Boccea Moto, Royal Enfield with Motostar 2000.
On display, thanks to the passion of the members of the Moto Club Castellammare Adriaticoeven one thematic selection of the iconic “three cylinders”, protagonists of an industrial project that has found success above all in Great Britain, but not only. Among the specimens on display, a bright purple Triumph Trident and two BSA racing cars from the early 1970s, with which the legendary Mike Hailwood also raced.
Saturday 10 June at 5.30pm safety becomes even more protagonist, in the name of concreteness. On stage at Ride On there will be the talk show “Innovation and road safety, there is only one road!”dedicated to the memory of Elena Aubry, the unfortunate Roman biker who lost her life in 2018 due to the uneven road surface. Organized by Fiera Roma and Graziella Viviano, Elena’s mother and president of the “Under Elena’s eyes” Association, the appointment aims to be a direct and aware comparison between institutions, companies and all the two-wheeled people, to concretely address the the issue of road safety, promoting awareness at all levels of dialogue and outlining measures and tools that should be adopted to save lives. The Lazio Region, Rome Capital, ANAS, ANIA, the Traffic Police and Motorcycling were invited to speak about it. At the end of the meeting, there will be an award ceremony for some of the companies that have distinguished themselves for their innovations on the subject. Among the examples, whose use and effectiveness will be demonstrated on site, are motorcycle airbags, real life savers, and the road surface tracking app.
Particular attention during the three days is paid to children and boys. For those (aged between 7 and 14) who want to try riding a motorcycle, Federmoto will be available with the Federal motorcycle school. And to the kids already in possession of a motorcycle and/or a racing license, it will offer a Theoretical-Practical Course (both initiatives are carried out completely free of charge). The Italian Motorcycle Federation will also be present at the Fair with its own Regional Committee, with a space also presided over by the IMF Historical Register.
Equally dedicated to the little onesinitiative organized by the Moto Club Roma with the non-profit organization Una Zebra a Pois (https://unazebraapois.org), an association particularly active with children and young people with autism spectrum and developmental disorders. Expert riders from the club will be available to let children and young people involved in the non-profit organization experience the thrill of a motorbike ride in absolute safety.
Many third sector associations who will be present at RIDE ON: A polka dot zebra, mentioned above, ADV – Association for the Visually Impaired, AIPD – Italian Association of Down Syndrome Carriers – sez. Rome, which will carry out some interaction activities with Solidarietà Bikers, one of the bikers’ associations most involved in social work, Chiara and Francesco, which deals with preventing abuse and mistreatment of children and young people.
