Not even the time to digest the news of the separation from Yamaha and lo and behold comes the official confirmation on the future of Toprak Razgatlioglu: in 2024 the Turkish will race with the BMW M1000RR of the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, in the SBK World Championship. His teammate has yet to be made official.
Marc Bongers, Director of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, said: “Toprak is undoubtedly one of the best riders of the moment; he proved it by winning the 2021 World Championship title. But he is not only a fast biker, he also has a great personality off the track. We are convinced that Toprak will establish himself very quickly in the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family. We look forward to our collaboration and our future together.”
Dr. Markus Schramm, head of BMW Motorrad, added: “We are delighted to welcome Toprak Razgatlioglu to our official WorldSBK squad. I am very proud that Toprak has chosen to join BMW Motorrad. This is a step forward for our project and a strong commitment from BMW Motorrad Motorsport to World Superbike.”
