Three-Bridges, Victoria, Australia, May 30. Just after winning his first major Rally-Raid, let’s talk about the Sonora Rally from last month, Daniel Sanders he returned home, celebrated with his family and resumed training. Then his luck turned. In one of these sessions, among other things of pure fun with friends in theOutback australianothe GasGas official rider crashed, it doesn’t seem even that hard, but the consequences were merciless: right femur fracture.
Sanders was hospitalized and operated, obviously to the full satisfaction of the Rider and the doctors, but it is equally obvious that recovery is not a trivial matter. Currently, the doctors are unable to determine how long it will take for the Rider to get back on the bike, but it is certain that a lot depends on Sanders and his ability to recover. A good part of the World Championship season will go away, but within the Team there is confidence that it will can resume in time for the preparation of the Dakar 2024and maybe already from the Rally of Morocco in top form.
Daniel Sanders. “I am well annoyed, not to say disappointed. All I was doing was having fun on the rally bike. I had a little accident, but ended up with a broken leg. Luckily, the surgery seems to have gone well, which is good news: I feel fine too. It will be some time before I can get back on the bike and race again, but I will do my best to make that happen as soon as possible. Thanks to all the team for the support, and we look forward to continuing Sonora’s good results into the rest of this year.”
