Original objects from the Star Wars movies are highly sought after among collectors. Even more so if they are from the first installment.
The specialized firm Propstore Princess Leia’s ceremony dress will be auctioned on June 28of the movie Star Wars: A New Hope (1977).
propstore estimates that Princess Leia’s dress could reach a price of 1 or 2 million Dollars, of departure. It’s about the ceremonial outfit that actress Carrie Fisher wore in the last scene of the movie, when she gives the medals to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker… and she forgets about poor Chewbacca, who deserved it like the most.
This Prince Leia dress is highly regarded for several reasons. First, because all original Star Wars props are. Even more so from the first movie.
And also, because unfortunately Carrie Fisher passed away in 2016, and we already know that the objects of deceased people acquire more value.
1400 objects up for auction at Propstore
“The original Princess Leia ball gown worn by Carrie Fisher is an amazing piece of movie history,” explains Brandon Alinger, Propstore’s COO, in an interview on Space.com.
“The dress was used in the last scene of the original Star Wars movie and is the last thing on screen before the credits roll,” he continues. “The film established Carrie Fisher as a global superstar. It’s amazing that 47 years after the scene was shot, this dress still exists and continues to inspire fans around the world.”
