Actress Pom Klementieff has made Mantis one of Marvel’s most beloved characters. But… Will he return?
Attention SPOILERS. Mantis (Pom Klementieff) debuted in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and helped the protagonists defeat EGO (Kurt Russell), which is why she joined the team and repeated in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), the Guardians Christmas Special (2022) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). This last film ends with Mantis leaving to live an adventure as she wants. Therefore, it is interesting to know what she will happen in the future of the MCU.
In a recent interview with Esquire, Pom Klementieff was asked about the future of Mantis and so she answered.
“We don’t know what will happen to the characters, if there will be more movies, if we are going to return. We have no idea. Mantis will go ride and see what happens.”
She also said that makeup doesn’t bother her too much.
“Did you know? I’m pretty lucky with Mantis makeup. It’s not that long because it’s my own skin tone. So, it’s an hour and 40 minutes, which in a world of sci-fi movies, is nothing. It’s just the beginning of the antenna. We have to make sure it blends in and looks like it’s part of my head. And the rest is CGI. I’m not like the other characters who spend hours and hours in a makeup chair.”

So for now, we will have to wait and see what happens with Mantis. But it is clear that the movie Avengers: Secret Wars (2026) will bring together a lot of heroes and villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and she cannot be missing.
In addition, she was excited about going to Cannes, where her next film, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, will be released.
“I am excited to go to Cannes. It’s going to be really nice to get back to where I am. I feel very grateful to work with such talented directors. I mean, between James Gunn, Christopher McQuarrie, and then Sam Hargrave, they’re amazing in different ways. So I feel grateful for that. And it turns out that these are things that a lot of people are seeing, which is even better.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still in theaters where it has grossed more than $673 million worldwide. While the rest of the Marvel installments where Pom Klementieff has participated are available on the Disney Plus streaming platform.
