How many Pokémon games have been sold?
The boost obviously came mainly from the latest games in the franchise, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, which debuted last November and sold tens of millions of copies in just a couple of days to become one of Nintendo’s best releases. in its history despite its performance issues and initial glitches (and more that the games still haven’t gotten rid of).
With this, the franchise in terms of games or software has already exceeded 480 million units. This means that Pokémon is very close to ousting Tetris, which is in 3rd position on the list of best-selling video game franchises, with 495 million units. Mario ranks first with 823.38 million units sold.
In case you missed it: The Pokémon Company produced a record number of Pokémon TCG cards to combat the shortage.
If the basic estimates are right, this should be easily achieved by the next update, scheduled for next year. However, it is important to mention that Call of Duty is not very far from Pokémon, since until 2021 it had sold 400 million copies. It is also revealed on the page that the Pokémon video game series has support for 9 languages.
On the other hand, regarding Pokémon TCG, there is support for 14 languages and it has a presence in 89 countries and regions, and the most important thing is that more than 52.9 billion cards have already been printed since 1996.
Finally, it was mentioned that the Pokémon anime has been broadcast in 192 countries and regions.
