Denpasar Sound – The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD shared his opinion regarding democratic parties or general elections in Indonesia. He said the election must be fraudulent, but he did not agree with the postponement of the election.
Based on his statement, this opinion is an old opinion since the era of President SBY, which he still believes in until now.
Mahfud MD’s opinion was expressed after he was asked for his opinion regarding the speculation of political observers and the public about allegations of election fraud.
That question was asked to him during an interview on the Kick Andy show recently, which was broadcast on a national television station.

Asked about the allegation of fraud in the upcoming 2024 election, Mahfud said this was a wild thought. However, he did not deny the existence of fraud, he even emphasized that there must have been fraud in the election.
He said that he had conveyed his opinion about the election being fraudulent in the newspapers since the SBY era, when he was a judge.
“I wrote about this, wrote in the newspapers, that fraud will always occur,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as quoted by Suara Denpasar from METRO TV’s YouTube channel on Tuesday (30/5/2023).
“At that time I defended Pak SBY, because I was the judge, Pak SBY won the election because it was fraudulent, I wrote in the media on page one of the Sindo newspaper, the election must have been fraudulent!” he said.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs then explained his opinion, which firmly stated that the Election must be fraudulent.

“Elections are definitely cheating, right? Because those who are cheating now are people below, using retail, not the government! But not government engineering!” he explained.
Even though he believes the Election must be fraudulent, Mahfud MD emphasized that he is the person who most rejects postponing the Election and of course it will not be postponed.
“I am the person who most rejects the postponement of the election, on what basis is it related to the postponement of the election? And the election will not be postponed!” he said. (*/Ana AP)
