The situation for the Japanese company is not easy. The top executive spoke about it, offering some ideas

Yamaha lately looks like one sinking ship with the crew throwing themselves to the right and left abandoning it. Obviously it is a metaphor but after Fabio Quartararo who said he decided to return to base 2021 (the one from two years ago, oh!), on Monday Toprak Razgatlioglu greeted everyone: since 2024 it will be at BMW.
He comes then a little difficult believe the parole of the various executives who expend themselves to say that the Japanese company is investing and wants to recover the lost ground: facts are missing.
A couple of months ago he spoke Lin Jarvis (saying the engine used this year is the one they should have used last year), ten days ago Maio Meregalli he tried to explain the situation to Zam.
Finally, a few days ago, he spoke Eric De SeynesEuropean president of Yamaha: “We have been working very hard for a year following Fabio’s advice” he said.
Then he added that the Japanese manufacturer has invested: “We have a new engine, we can see that the top speed has improved significantly, but now we have to protect our key advantages”.
Actually these also sound like words in the wind because Quartararo himself said that the bike is super aggressive.
And the competition is not watching, as De Seynes himself admitted: “You can see that Red Bull, KTM and Ducati are working a lot on aerodynamics. They could make up for the points they lack. We don’t have the same advantage as in the past. We are working hard”.
