The 2000 class rider leads the Moto2 championship and sporting director Ciabatti expressed his appreciation. Plus there are free saddles for 2024

For 2024 between eight Ducati motorcycles there are due at the moment yet free. One is the one who currently drives Fabio Di Giannantonio with Gresini, the other is Pramac di Johann Zarco. In reality it would be three but it is difficult that George Martin choose to get off the most competitive bike of the lot (as Ducati Sports Director Paolo Ciabatti said), even if a new challenge and/or a lot of money could make him change his mind. If you wish, you could even say that there are five free saddles, also considering that the two Mooney Vr46s are about to expire, but it is almost impossible to see a driver in Uccio and Rossi’s team who is not from the Academy. Bagnaia, on the other hand, is also under contract in 2024 and Bastianini will also remain on the red.
One of the free saddles of the Ducati could end up at Tony Arbolino. The Milanese born in 2000 is currently leading the Moto2 championship with a 25-point lead over Pedro Acosta. He scored two victories and 4 podiums in the first 5 races. All in all, a great start.
He Ds Slippers, at Le Mans, let it be known that the Bolognese manufacturer is also keeping an eye on Acosta in Moto2. For the Spaniard born in 2004, however, the close relationship with KTM must be considered, even if the Austrian manufacturer recently let it be known that it would prefer to leave him in Moto2 also in 2024.
“Acosta is one of the most promising riders from his Moto3 years and we know he has a bond with KTM, which is understandable,” Ciabatti told MotoGP.com. Tony Arbolino is also doing a good job. Let’s see, it’s a bit early, we still need a couple of races before figuring out what to do next year.”
We could probably learn something more after the consecutive triple Mugello – Sachsenring – Assen, i.e. at the end of June.
But the possibility of another Italian riding a Ducati exists, it’s real. We will see.
