The latest Microsoft error report points to Barco, developer of the application, as responsible for the failure to respond to Windows 10 and 11 features for users who use Clickshare.
Microsoft has published an update in its error report, where it ensures that is not responsible for the problem that affects the operation of Windows 10 and 11, consisting of slow response in Windows search and the Start menu. The bug has affected those who use Clickshare.
The company points out that the failure may be due to faulty registry keys or an incorrect implementation of the Outlook API in relation to the ClickShare app. The bug, reported by a significant number of Windows users on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, has been affecting those who use the ClickShare app, developed by Barco.
ClickShare is a conferencing tool widely used by many organizations for online collaboration and integrates with Windows Calendar. In January, when this issue was first reportedBarco attributed the bug to the recent update from Microsoft and encouraged its customers to report directly to the company.
Five months later, Microsoft has updated its bug report, disassociating itself from the problem and suggesting that faulty registry keys or an incorrect Outlook API implementation could be the cause.
The company recommends uninstalling apps that integrate with Windows, Office, Outlook, and Calendar as a workaround. In addition, it advises customers to review the Start menu troubleshooting guide and stay tuned for updates.
Neither Microsoft nor Barco are responsible
Microsoft’s new statements leave ClickShare customers in a delicate situation, as they neither Microsoft nor Barco are responsible for the problem.
Users affected by this bug on Windows 10 and 11 are in a difficult position as there is no clear solution offered by either company.
Whether Barco will take action to address the issue remains to be seen. A possible solution would be a ClickShare app update that resolves the issue without turning off the Windows Calendar integration.
This would provide users with an alternative to continue using the conferencing tool without experiencing non-response.
