Konami has confirmed that neither Hideo Kojima nor his Kojima Productions are involved in the work of the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3renamed for the occasion Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.
By intervening on the columns of IGNa Japanese company spokesman said the development was entrusted to Virtuos. The studio is working on both the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 and the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. In addition, Virtuos is supported by a team of internal developers at Konami who have previously worked on the series created by Hideo Kojima.
As for the choice to redo the third chapter of the series, Konami explained that the decision fell on Metal Gear Solid 3 because it represents the birth of Big Boss, therefore chronologically it is the beginning of the series. In the end, the possibility is not excluded that in the future other chapters of the series will be subject to remakes: “We will listen to fan requests and consider them carefully.”
