The findings of the three different medical teams involved in evaluating the healing of the bone in Marc Marquez’s right hand gave positive results. Thus, after breaking the first metacarpal of his right hand in Portugal, Marc Marquez will be back on the saddle of the RC213V this weekend in France, for the Le Mans GP (here the TV times).
By the way, Marc won’t even have to serve any penalties, as the MotoGP Court of Appeal held that the double long lap penalty handed down to Marc Marquez by the FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel during the race which took place on 26 March in Portugal was discounted with the rider’s non-participation in the MotoGP race in Argentina..
Marquez and the Honda RC213V will then return to the routines of a Grand Prix and pick up where they left off. The main objective will be to complete a race weekend, making the most of the time available on the track.
The fifth round of 2023 will coincide with a historic stage, for the Grands Prix: in fact, the 1,000th round will be held in France. Brands and riders from all over the world have been competing on two wheels since 1949. Since it entered the fray two years later, Honda has taken 817 victories across all classes.
This is Marquez’s comment: “I’m really happy to be back on track together with the Repsol Honda Team and be able to ride again. First I want to thank my medical team for the professionalism and advice they have given me over the past few weeks. As a rider you always want to come back as soon as possible, but with an injury like mine it was important to allow for recovery times. Now I can fully concentrate on riding, without any worries about the injury, which is fully healed. We’ll see what the French GP has in store for us. Above all, we will work hard.”
