Square Enix’s 2022 remake of Live A Live (find our Review here) could potentially be followed up in the future, but there’s a problem. In a recent Famitsu interview, Tokita mentioned how there were indeed plans for a sequel during the DS era. Unfortunately, at the time, era “difficult to show passion” that the fans had for this series, so the project stopped. In an official video (find Who the Twitter post) of the FAQ by Square Enixto the game manufacturer Takashi Tokita was asked about the possibilities of a second game in the future. Below is the statement:
Will there be a possibility for Live A Live II in the future? If the Steam and PlayStation editions of the game sold a million copies, then I’d be very confident in pitching a Live A Live 2 to the company. So I need all of you guys to help me.
