Nearly borderless Flow AMOLED display
POCO has decided to go for a compact design. The new POCO F5 comes with a 6.67-inch FlowAMOLED panel, with a hole in the screen and 2.22-millimeter frames. As the company explains, it offers a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio.
The body of the device weighs a total of 181 grams and we have a thickness of 7.9 millimeters. This is the lightest POCO F in the company’s history, which traditionally in this range had opted for heavier and thicker bodies in order to add more power.
At the quality level, the screen offers a brightness of up to 1,000 nits, we have a refresh rate of 120 Hz and FullHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Content is also supported Dolby Vision y HDR10+.
Liquid cooling and 4 nanometer processor
Inside the new mobile the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is added for the first time, presented in March of this year. We are facing a processor manufactured in 4 nanometers with Kryo cores of up to 2.91 GHz. According to Qualcomm, its performance is up to 50% more than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
Together with this chipset we have versions with 8 and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory and a storage of 256 GB UFS 3.1. To complement this performance, POCO adds the 2.0 liquid cooling system with a copper area of 3,725 mm2. Also the Dynamic RAM Expansion 3.0 system, which allows you to virtualize up to 19 GB of RAM for some tasks.
For the battery it has 5,000 mAh together with a 67W fast charging system, with a charger included in the box compatible with this speed. It does not have wireless charging, but with this cable charging it promises to complete 100% in 46 minutes.
Triple camera and the 3.5mm jack returns
In the photographic section, it has a triple camera with a 64-megapixel main sensor and an f/1.79 aperture lensalong with a secondary 8-megapixel sensor for the wide angle with a 119º field and a 2-megapixel sensor for the macro.
The POCO F5 has stabilization OIS and a 2X zoom. It also offers 4K video with EIS electronic stabilization and the image processor derived from the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.
For the software we have MIUI 14, in its version for POCO, on Android 13. In connectivity it comes with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC; in sound with stereo speakers and again recovers a old acquaintance that we had been losing in most modern mobiles: the 3.5 mm jack. Despite being a thinner device than others, the POCO F5 does add this connection that had been neglected.
Versions and price of the POCO F5
The new POCO F5 is now available in Spain, in two versions. The first with 8 GB and 256 GB and a second with 12 GB and 256 GB. During the first week it will be available on sale at a price 50 euros lower. The POCO F5 is available in black and white and these are its official prices:
