The comment from the Giallorossi coach after getting saved with his team
The comment at the end of the match by the coach of Lecce, Marco Baroni who obtained salvation after today’s victory in Monza: “It’s the group’s victory and this salvation is deserved. I wanted to make an important journey in this territory and I am happy to have reached this goal. I worked hard to make this dream come true but everyone in Lecce was fantastic. Today I was moved at the end because I had a strong feeling inside thinking about my father who I lost in May and I wanted to look him in the face again to share my joy. Not an easy season but we all assumed responsibilities as we didn’t have large financial resources. This team has worked and put a lot of energy and motivation into it. We built the football that this team could play even if in some moments it was not possible to keep the right concentration. The performance has always been there in the championship even if at times we lacked the result. I congratulate all my players, then staff, fans and the club. The boys were extraordinary from every point of view and to think that they already gave us relegation but this group never gave up demonstrating a strong identity. I also liked how the team handled the difficult moments despite the lack of experience to manage the tension of certain Serie A matches.
