MOSCOW – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukraine has de-facto turned into a state sponsor of terrorism.
Peskov’s comments were made in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin that was broadcast on Sunday.
The spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked to comment on remarks by the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov who vowed to continue killing Russians everywhere in the world.
Despite its explosive nature, said Peskov, Budanov’s statement did not receive criticism from Western sponsors of Kiev.
“That statement is unprecedented in its essence. And of course, it would be strange not to hear words of condemnation from European capitals and from Washington. Logic says it is impossible to do without punishment,” said Peskov.
Budanov’s confession, Peskov continued, was further proof that Kiev was directly behind the terrorist attack on the Russian people.
“Russia’s special services know what to do after such statements,” he said, without elaborating on potential countermeasures against such activities.
“It is clear that the Kiev regime is behind the killings, not only sponsoring them, but also organizing, instigating and carrying them out. De-facto, we are talking about state sponsors of terrorism,” Peskov said, reported by Russia Today, Monday (15/15). 5/2023).
The controversial statement was made last week by Budanov, the boss of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR) in an interview with Yahoo News.
