PlayStation Game Size reveals how much The Lord of the Rings: Gollum occupies on Sony consoles. Once again, PS5’s Kraken technology demonstrates its virtues.
The Lord of the Rings universe is one of the largest in fantasy history. Fruit of the works written by Tolkien, we have enjoyed wonderful movies (such as the Peter Jackson trilogy), comics and also video games.
This week comes the new game based on Lord of the Rings. We move away from Frodo, Gandalf or Aragorn to place ourselves on the figure of Gollum, the creature that yearns for the One Ring.
After many years of waiting (it was one of the first next-gen games to be announced), The Lord of the Rings: Gollum faces its imminent launch on May 25.
Artwork by Daedalic Entertainment (Deponia), Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action adventure starring this creaturemarked by stealth, platforms and its beautiful recreation of Middle-earth.
How big is The Lord of the Rings: Gollum? The PlayStation Game Size account answers our question, though only for Sony consoles.
La magia de Kraken and PS5
As unbelievable as it may seem, some PlayStation 5 games take up less space than their PS4 counterparts. It’s not the first time this has happened, but we can’t help but be surprised.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is one of those lucky ones. Via PlayStation Game Size leak (based on PSN data), the Nacon and Daedalic Entertainment title occupies less space on PS5 than on PS4.
Concretely, the game takes up around 18.66GB on PS5. This is version 1,001,000, at the expense of receiving a day one update.
In the case of PlayStation 4, the game is 30.51GB in size., which is almost double what it takes up on the next-gen console. And it’s all thanks to Kraken compression technology.
These data are important, since tomorrow (May 23) the pre-load of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum begins. If you have pre-ordered the game, starting tomorrow you will be able to download and install it on your Sony consoles.
Also in the case of Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC, of course. In the title sheet on Steam we can see that the game occupies 45GB of free space on compatiblea figure much higher than that of PS5.
We do not know how much it occupies on Xbox One, although we assume that it is around 30GB (as on PS4). On Xbox Series X|S (according to the Microsoft Store), the title of The Lord of the rings has a size of 17.59GBeven less than on PlayStation 5.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is the new game based on the works of JR Tolkien, which will be available from May 25 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive at a later date.
