The Monza defender after the 5-year sentence: “I believe in justice and I won’t stop fighting. We will appeal.”
After the 5-year sentence imposed by the judges of the VI criminal section of the Court of Naples for external competition in a mafia association and sports fraud, the person concerned intervened. Armando Izzo has entrusted his position and his state of mind to social networks: “I am very disappointed with the first instance sentence. I was acquitted for not having committed the crime in the Avellino-Reggina match of May 25, 2014 but I am accused of having arranged the Modena-Avellino match of May 17, 2014, a match that I didn’t even play. I will read the reasons with my lawyers and we will present an appeal”.

The Monza defender continues: “I believe in justice and I’m sure that my absolute non-involvement in the criminal world will be demonstrated. I thank AC Monza and my family, who are always close to me. I won’t stop fighting.” Even his lawyer, Stefano Montone, confirmed the appeal: “Clearly we will appeal – said the lawyer to LaPresse -, because as of now we believe that the sentence can and should be overturned in the absence of the minimum features of the competition dispute external”.
