TASIKMALAYA VOICE– The general chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, has revealed the main goal of bringing the Argentine team to Indonesia
Erick’s goal of holding a FIFA Matchday trial match, between the Indonesian vs Argentina national team, is to hone the abilities of the national team players from a mental, skill and experience perspective.
“The main objective of FIFA Match Day is none other than honing your mentality, skills and gaining experience in competing against teams from outside Southeast Asia and Asia. Garuda must fly higher,” said Erick, quoted from the PSSI official website.
Erick Thohir also examined Indonesia’s potential in the 2023 SEA Games competition yesterday. He said how important it is mentally for the players in the face of pressure.

“Because I saw yesterday’s SEA Games, I saw the importance of players’ mental strength in dealing with pressure. I believe Argentina, with its world champion status and FIFA ranking 1, will put pressure, both mentally, technically or strategically on the Indonesian national team. It’s just how we handle it, ” he said.
As previously stated, the match against Indonesia vs Argentina will be held at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta on June 19.
According to Erick Thohir, the arrival of Lionel Messi and his friends to compete against the Garuda squad will create new history for Indonesian football.
Because Indonesia will face the World Cup champion yesterday as well as FIFA’s 1st place in SUGBK.
“This is historical because this is the first time Indonesia has tried out with the first ranking in world football,” said Erick.
