UEFA has given 20,000 tickets to the Nerazzurri, 15,500 to the Giallorossi and 5,900 to Fiorentina. With the “neutral” coupons, the numbers will rise
May 20 – Milan
It will be a mass exodus, to conquer Europe. The Italy of football has returned to dreaming with three teams in the UEFA finals. And their fans are ready to go crazy to follow them. About sixty thousand Italian supporters will invade Istanbul, Budapest and Prague from 31 May to 10 June. A record emigration for our football in pursuit of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference. This is how the clubs are organizing themselves.
Who Between
—
In Viale della Liberazione there is a succession of meetings with UEFA. Yesterday an Inter delegation was in Istanbul to take care of logistics and, on the subject of ticket sales, a definitive route has not yet been taken, also due to the absence of precise directives from above. Without considering the practical difficulties deriving from the choice of Istanbul, not a “simple” city accustomed to these types of events. However, Inter are counting on being able to give a communication with the guidelines for the final by the weekend or, at the latest, at the beginning of the week. The expectation among the fans is very high and in any case long waits in front of the PC will be inevitable. The Nerazzurri estimate the potential requests at around 100,000, while the coupons assigned are just under 20,000. Translated: only a small part of the 40,000 subscribers will be satisfied, also considering a quota to be guaranteed to sponsors and hospitality areas. The loyalty of the fan over the years will count: on what basis and to what extent an endowment will be guaranteed to long-standing season ticket holders is one of the details being defined. Although Inter have noticed with dismay an excess in the prices of flights and hotels, which have soared in recent times (the sum risks exceeding 2,000 euros…), special packages are being prepared. They will be reserved for the most numerous and representative Inter Clubs, a bit like what has already been organized in the last few Champions League matches using the Gattinoni Group, a partner of the club for years now, as a “vector”.
Here Rome
—
At one point, Roma’s servers went almost haywire, with around 50,000 requests and a peak of 120,000 people queuing. The target? The precious reservation code to then purchase the May 31 coupon for the Puskas Arena from today, when Roma will go in search of the continental encore. It was the 15,500 who grabbed it who had a little more luck and a lot of perseverance. Those 15,500 (same share for Sevilla) will then become more, certainly 17,000 with VIP fans and Giallorossi guests. But even further, considering that there will be 30,000 tickets that UEFA will put up for sale on his behalf. There was therefore the assault, as was also foreseeable. The 10 thousand coupons of phase one, reserved for those entitled to pre-emption, were pulverized in an hour. Phase two (free sale), instead started at 17 to close at 18.11, with the 5,500 tickets gone. From 1 pm today until the same time on May 24 (prices range from 40 to 150 euros) it will therefore be possible to purchase a ticket, for those who have the code. Waiting then for UEFA to put the other 30,000 tickets on sale through its channels. But how will the Giallorossi wave get to Budapest? Many fans started booking flights immediately after the Leverkusen match, with prices immediately shooting up. The fans will arrive in Budapest via Munich, Vienna, Belgrade and Bratislava, but many will also decide to drive to Hungary. Then the charters: at least a couple, in addition to what Roma will organize for VIP fans and their guests.
Here Fiorentina
—
“Everyone in Prague alè” sang the Viola fans on the night in Basel. In reality, everyone in Prague will not go there given that at the moment there are just 5,900 tickets for Fiorentina (like West Ham) also due to the reduced capacity (about 20,000) of the Eden Arena in Prague, Slavia’s stadium. And so the purple club is deciding how to put it on sale: from the first refusal for the loyalists to the draw through other ways, at the moment everything is open. As soon as the modalities have been communicated, the dates for the purchase will also be indicated. Hard to say how many tickets would have been needed to satisfy everyone, certainly at least double. Meanwhile, the costs of getting to Prague by plane are increasing. The best route – Bologna-Prague – underwent a surge of 150% reaching over 500 euros. At lower prices there are flights departing from Rome, even if the cost to reach the capital is higher than Bologna.
