Many players exploded with excitement when the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for PlayStation 5 was announced in 2021. However, the hype has gradually died down, as we know that the title has had a complicated development process and who changed studios a long time ago.
Now that the next PlayStation Showcase is right around the corner, many fans are wondering if the remake will come back in a big way and surprise with a trailer. However, Jeff Grubb, a journalist and insider, recently spoke about the project and it worried many players.

Is the Star Wars: KOTOR remake in trouble?
During a recent edition of Jeff Grubb’s Game Mess (via Game Rant), the journalist spoke about his expectations and forecasts for the PlayStation Showcase and the future of the brand. Someone asked him about the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake and if it would arrive before the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake.
Grubb recalled that Ubisoft did not mention the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in its list of releases for the fiscal year, so everything indicates that it will not arrive anytime soon. Despite this, he believes that the Ubisoft title will arrive before the KOTOR remake.
Subsequently, he worried Star Wars fans, stating that he even believes that the KOTOR remake will never come. “I don’t think the KOTOR remake will ever come out,” Grubb said.
The journalist probably remembered all the development problems the game has had and the studio change it underwent last year. So he sees a little positive outlook for the title. The point is that it is not clear if he has new information that makes him believe that the remake is lost.
Months have passed with no new details on the title and no company has commented on Grubb’s statements. So, it is best to wait for information about the remake. Below you can listen to the words of the journalist, at the 44:28 mark of the video:
