Hulk Hogan loved by some and hated by others, he is one of WWE’s biggest superstars. Despite his controversial career, Hogan is a wrestling icon.
Recently, during an interview with Forbes, Hogan ruled out the possibility of wrestling again in WWE for a retirement match by saying his body is too battered after years of taking a beating in the wrestling business.
Oh great man, the old is new again! Fanny packs can be back, Hulk Hogan can be back, bro. But no, my body is too beaten up to be beaten in that ring. I mean, I know everyone thinks it looks like fun and games, but once you’re in there, what happens between the bells, I’ve never been in that ring and walked out without getting hurt.
The former multiple-time world champion reminds readers that he put in his time and was on top of the wrestling world before it Steve Austin y John Cena they will arrive.
And that’s over 40 years. That’s like fighting 350, 400 times a year, twice on Saturday, twice on Sunday, twice on Wednesday. I was around a long time before John Cena and Stone Cold and all the new guys came along, so I was putting in my time.
Later in the interview, Hogan opened up about his partying habits and whether he’s ever gotten high with any celebrities. This is what he had to say.
Oh, I have, in the past of course. I started wrestling in the late ’70s, man. And during the 80s it was the wild west. We were at Madison Square Garden with Blondie, Cindy Lauper and Andy Warhol. So I’ve been around the block a few times, if you know what I mean. But to me, this is more than someone hooking up and wanting to get high on marijuana. For me, it’s like a new fight, just a different mission.
