The live-action movie of The Little Mermaid is giving a lot to talk about everywhere and so far the acceptance of the public is really impressive despite the negative comments it has received.
Creating a movie requires a huge budget, and one of the things that movies know how to do is make people look very different. Things like makeup, clothes and other things are pretty cool to look at as a final product but no one talks about the cost of these things.
As reported by Variety, a person who worked directly with the film comments on the cost of the hair extensions used by Halle Bailey to bring Ariel to life. The process to try to change the appearance of the actress was tremendous and it is said that the whole process to add those hair extensions was quite long (and expensive).
“I’m not speculating, but we probably spent at least $150,000 because we had to redo it and get it out. You couldn’t use it and we’d have to start over. It was a process,” this person said.
If it is something quite expensive and as reported by people who have seen the film say that it looks quite good and that it did not affect the visual theme at all. It was also detailed that they added a lot of loose hair so that it floated underwater.
The Little Mermaid is Disney’s latest live-action remake and adapts the 1989 animated classic. Follow Ariel (Halle Bailey), a young mermaid fascinated by the human world who makes a deal with a sea witch named Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) to become a human for three days so she can chase a young prince named Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). Javier Bardem, Noma Dumezweni, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina also star in the film.
