On Monday 29 May in the Municipality of Milan, for the first time, there will be face-to-face meetings between the managers of Inter and Milan, the Referendum Committee for San Siro, the Board of Trustees of Palazzo Marino and representatives of the Urban Regeneration Department. The question at the center of the meeting was the referendum on the future of San Siro. It will do? Will it not be done? Will it be by the summer, as hoped by the clubs, or in spring 2024, as the promoters of the popular consultation seem more likely?

The face-to-face meeting – in which Mayor Sala is not expected to participate, who is against the referendum – will be just one of the episodes in a larger series. It starts at 16 with a garrison in Piazza della Scala. Then at 16.30, represented by Anna Camposampiero, Andrea Bonessa and Veronica Dini, the Committee will meet the Guarantors, without Milan and Inter. Then there will be the entrance to the clubs. It ends on Tuesday with the committees of Milan, Parma and Rome asking for the repeal of the Stadium Law. Monday 29 will not only be the first time that all the players on the field will find themselves facing each other after last week’s meeting between the Guarantors, the Club and the Municipality. It will also be the first call after the order of the Judge of the Civil Court of Milan, canceling the judgment of inadmissibility expressed by the Guarantors, has put the referendum back on track. They are a repeal, which essentially asks not to consider the construction of a new stadium in the public interest, and a proactive one, which among the various intervention options takes into consideration the restructuring of the Meazza.
