Microsoft may have teased that the upcoming reboot of Fable Of Playground Games may be present atXbox Games Showcase next week. A few hours ago, the account Official Xbox Twitter released a short video for its June 11 Xbox showcase. The tweet reads, “Do you love GAMES as much as we do? Then you don’t want to miss the Xbox Games Showcase.”
Nothing too special so far, but the video may be related to the highly anticipated Fable. In this video, we can clearly hear the music from the original Fable. Additionally, the glitter trail could also be a reference to the series as this trail is used to guide players towards the goal of their quest or the beginning of a particular quest. Although not present in the original Fable, the path “breadcrumb” was introduced in Story II from 2008 and was also used in Fable III del 2010. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll get Fable news during the Xbox Showcase, but it would be interesting to see what Microsoft has in store, the reboot of the series has been talked about for many years now.
Announced in 2020, the reboot of the series faced some development problems due to Microsoft insisting that Playground uses internal engines instead of the new Unreal Engine 5. Furthermore, it has been stated that the development of the reboot is progressing slowly as the developers are having a bit of a hard time adjusting to making an open-world title. Matt Bootyhead of the Xbox Game Studioshe stated months ago that the IP will show up when it’s readynext week is near and we just have to wait.
Fable is currently planned for Xbox Series X/S e PC.
