“I know Calvo and, in my opinion, he is doing – despite everything – a good job. I do not comment on his statements because they are few words, which I have not even heard directly ”.
Did the umpteenth defeat against Milan affect you?
“I deliberately didn’t watch the match. I then saw the result and read that Juve were defeated, with a not so exciting second half. I believe that, from Empoli onwards, the team and the club have suffered a definitive psychological meltdown. It was yet another mental shock, derived from the continuous penalties. Difficult to come to terms with it in a similar situation”.
How do you evaluate the work of President Ferrero?
“I respect Ferrero, he is doing everything possible in an extremely complicated inherited situation. It will be necessary to understand if he wants to continue, given the many positions he holds. After that it will be necessary to understand how to trace the coordinates of the new company”.
In your opinion, did Elkann make Allegri excessively responsible, also investing him with managerial powers on that fateful night of November 28, 2022? Has this contributed to worsening the quality of his work?
“Allegri is a fine coach, the past speaks for him. When Agnelli’s structure capitulated, he was provisionally assigned “full powers” with reference to the technical area. After that, there’s something different to do about Elkann…”.
“He is a major shareholder. But why, lately, has he spoken only and exclusively about Juventus and his future? All of this should be dealt with by those who make up society and live it on a daily basis”.
In your opinion, does Allegri deserve to be confirmed again? The coach from Livorno talks about himself to the future, already projecting himself for next season…
“He elegantly launches indirect messages to the club, making it clear that he still has a two-year contract on his side. I believe, however, that the absolute certainties regarding his reappointment have faded from Seville onwards… ”.
From which director should Juventus restart? In recent weeks, the name of Cristiano Giuntoli has become more and more insistent…
“I don’t know him personally. With Napoli it is undeniable that he did a great job. I believe, however, that Juventus must pay a penalty to bring him to Turin: is the club willing to pay it? After the objective non-brilliant work of Paratici, a figure like his could help with a view to rebuilding from scratch ”.
The situation in which Juve currently navigates derives from an at least questionable management of the end of the winning decade by weblog Lambs. In his opinion, has the former Juventus president sinned excessively by “arrogance” from a certain moment on?
“I believe that Juventus’ decline began in 2018, when they chose to go all-in on Cristiano Ronaldo, against the wise opinion of Beppe Marotta. The current CEO of Inter was one of the most valid back-ups for Andrea Agnelli, who – since breaking up with him onwards – has practically got them all wrong. Perhaps ill-advised, the mistakes of investing in Sarri and Pirlo experiments and taking Allegri back, with an excessively long contract, were made in cascade. With regard to the market “strategies” implemented, I prefer not to express myself…”.
