ANKARA – Presiden Recep Tayyip Erdogan win second round of presidential election Turki which is held on Sunday. The supporters shouted the takbir “Allahu Akbar”.
The head of Turkey’s Supreme Electoral Council Ahmet Yener officially announced that Erdogan had defeated his rival, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
This victory made the incumbent president in power again for a third term.
Yener said Erdogan won 52.14% of the vote, while Kilicdaroglu won 47.86%. The difference between their votes is around 2.2 million.
“We will rule the country for the next five years,” Erdogan told cheering supporters from a bus in his home district of Istanbul, as quoted by Reuters, Monday (29/5/2023).
“God willing, we will deserve your trust,” he said again.
He thanked the people who voted and said he completed the second round of the election against Kemal Kilicdaroglu with their support.
So far there has been no response from Kemal Kilicdaroglu on Erdogan’s victory.
Erdogan’s supporters gathered outside his residence in Istanbul chanting “Allahu Akbar”.
