the reign of Dead Cells it is far from over. Five years have passed since its release, but Motion Twin’s work remains one of the most popular roguelike games on the marketboth on PC and consoles.
Of course, the release of the Return to Castlevania DLC (which could have a physical edition) has a lot to do with it. It’s almost like playing one of the timeless classics from the Konami saga.
In general, Dead Cells tends to receive patches and updates with new content, which first come to PC. And this time the same thing happens.

Dead Cells and its news in May 2023
For starters, the update for Dead Cells adds a new weapon. And be careful, because it is not just any weapon, since its particular design makes you a full-fledged Edward Scissorhands.
It is about the Sewing Scissors (Sewing Scissors)a survival weapon that instakills any standard enemy, as long as its HP is not above the damage the weapon deals.
On the other hand we have a new weapon of brutality: the Giant Comb. Launch it at your enemies and instantly defeat any air force in Dead Cells.
The update also adds a new NPC: the tailor’s daughter. To find it you must go to the tailor’s room, and it allows you to change the appearance of your character’s head.
For speedrun lovers, the update adds a new option for time trial mode. This allows us to see the time marker of each biome en Dead Cells.
Besides, The three final bosses of the Return to Castlevania DLC for Boss Rush mode are now available in Dead Cells. Will you be able to beat them often?
These are all the improvements for training mode:
New interface to generate a specific weapon with a certain level, quality and legend. New interface to choose a certain number of scrolls. New interface to choose the overall scaling level of the training room, based on the values of a selected biome. Added minibosses to monster spawners. Added a bunch of different traps to mob rooms. Added Return to Castlevania bosses. Bosses are no longer level 1. (no more 20 minute fights) Changed the UI for selecting mobs to a grid based one. Added a training dummy to calculate DPS
