Complex reinforcement of city dikes will protect Zwolle against high water in the coming century

The Drents Overijsselse Delta water board has started strengthening the city dikes of Zwolle. In the coming years, work will be carried out from Spooldersluis to Westerveld and the branch of the Vecht. This means that residents of Zwolle should be protected for years to come. “It even comes down to the fact that someone behind the dike may drown no more than once every hundred thousand years. Very abstract, but it is that safe,” says the project leader.
