After the worst news, the best opportunity can come, at least that’s how Darío Córdova began a path in the promotion of electronic equipment for optical inspection and X-rays in the quality process until he created Leader Technology Solutions (LTS) in 2009.
His years collaborating in a large electronics company specializing in computer development gave him the opportunity to work with the best technology.
He was a pioneer in the installation of X-ray equipment in the quality control of electronic circuits in Mexico.; However, when he closed the division in which he worked, for many -clients included- the world fell apart, but for others it was the opportunity to take off.
Darío observed an area of opportunity to provide technical support that many businessmen who purchased new equipment stopped receiving, however, these machines would soon cease to be useful as they did not have the possibility of repairing them in case of breakdowns or replacement of parts. “The market was there, customers had these machines, but there was no one to provide maintenance, knowing that after a while there would be no replacement parts. We started with customers who already knew us as new technologies arrived”. So he decided that an independent path suited his plans and With other colleagues, he created the company that has been in force for 15 years in an area as competitive as technology..
Nothing happened overnight. He became a representative of a Taiwanese and a German company that allowed him to learn about technologies from other latitudes and open a larger client portfolio. He lived through everything. With the Taiwanese company, he learned what it was like to be an independent representative to offer technology and technical support. “We promoted them in Mexico and introduced new machines. We opened a gap, it was not easy, many machines were sold and then the managers did not want to distribute with representatives and they had their own employees”, shares Darío, and it was time to redirect. It was when Goepel Electronics came into his life and a range of possibilities opened up.
Growth
The new management led them to sell high-tech X-ray and optical inspection equipment for the electronics industry, as well as the corresponding maintenance and training for their operators. Leader Technology Solutions’ main customers are those that manufacture electronic assemblies.
When the technology was “miniaturized” and its components were hidden in the devices, it was necessary to implement X-rays to verify their correct operation. “With today’s cell phones, you can no longer visually check the welds, there are metallic shields, so everything is hidden and to verify that the assemblies are in their correct position, that although the component is the same, it has a different function and with the automatic equipment checks all that”.
The machinery is a tailor-made suit and has a follow-up with the companies throughout the useful life of the equipment. “According to the client’s need, an optical inspection team is suggested, on the image an algorithm begins to analyze if it is the correct component, if it is in the correct position; If the components or welds are hidden, other X-ray equipment is used and the algorithm analyzes if there is a missing part, a short, you no longer need to even touch the product to know if it is okay or has a defect. Once it is checked if it is OK, it goes on to the next stage of assembly”.
In addition to quality control, the design area is another of the great branches in which Darío finds opportunities. The software that he distributes simplifies the work of all those technology designerssince it makes it possible for the machinery to convert the black and white blueprint into an electronic component that works without errors.
“The design format is one, the machine format is another, you have to do a kind of conversion. That software I sell does that, it converts your electronic design plans to a file format that the machine recognizes. Another type is for those who want to produce a design, if they haven’t done it before and don’t know if it’s going to have problems, if they haven’t produced it before, the machines are also in charge of identifying the errors to remove them”. At the end of the day, customer satisfaction is LTS’s objective, which is why it is tested with product analysis with the best technology to find the machinery that each one requires to improve its production and design without errors.

Due to the expansion and the pause during the pandemic in the manufacture of semiconductors, it has generated a latent need, so Darío does not take his finger off the line in the possibility of creating semiconductors and supporting equipment.
