Capcom has been on a roll this past half decade, with franchises like Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter enjoying significant critical and commercial success. And while those properties are, of course, likely to continue to grow, it sounds like the company might also be digging through its catalog to bring back one of its old properties.
According to journalist Jez Corden, Dead Rising is preparing to return. Posting recently on Twitter, Corden claimed that a reboot of the zombie-killing franchise is currently in the works at Capcom. Though he’s not sure what platforms it’s in development for, one would assume it will be a cross-platform version (assuming the leak is accurate).
Of course, until we hear something official from Capcom, it’s best to take it easy. Dead Rising was, of course, one of the company’s most popular and successful franchises, especially with its early installments, so there is no doubt that there will be many who will want to see it return.
