It has been no more and no less than four years since it was confirmed that the fourth part of Super Detective in Hollywood will be a reality, where not only Eddie Murphy will be back in the new moviebut also some other old acquaintances of the saga.
However, the coronavirus pandemic delayed the project, whose filming began in 2022 and its release will take place exclusively through Netflix.

Through his official Twitter account, Paramount Network confirms that this Saturday, May 13, starting at 3:30 p.m., the first three Super Detective films will be broadcast on the network in Hollywoodshowing a brief fragment of the first installment.

Super Detective in Hollywood, one of Eddie Murphy’s most iconic sagas
Released in 1984, Hollywood Detective is a fun police action comedy whose plot follows Axel Foley, a brash and intelligent detective from Detroit who tracks the murderer of a friend of his to the most elegant neighborhoods of Beverly Hills.
However, before Axel achieves his goal, the young policeman will be involved in an international network of smugglers and drug dealers.
Nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, Super Detective in Hollywood became a cult film whose success led Eddie Murphy to star in two more sequels in 1987 and 1994 respectively.
Now, almost 30 years after his last installment, the detective Axel Foley will be back with Super Detective in Hollywood 4, whose plot is kept secret for the moment. What seems clear is that Axel will continue to cause trouble for the Los Angeles Police Department in his late 60s. What new follies will he star in?
