Burn the Witchthe famous manga written and illustrated by Tite Kubocould finally continue with the second part of the manga and could receive a new animated adaptation after the success of the film released in October 2020.
After the conclusion of Bleach in 2018, Tite Kubo returned to work with a new manga titled Burn the Witch. The new work is certainly a project that led to the official return of Kubo in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Originally posted as one-shot in July 2018, it then resumed serialization in 2020, with the publication of four more chapters, subsequently announcing a second season of the manga.
Prior to this potential anime adaptation, an animated film based on Kubo’s second work was produced. Indeed in 2020, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Bleach, the announcement of an animated film adaptation of Burn the Witch arrivedmade by Colorful Studio and screened in Japanese theaters on October 2, 2020. Simultaneously released in streaming, the film was divided into three parts on Crunchyroll.
News of a possible adaptation comes thanks to the announcement of a big update on Kubo’s works scheduled for May 28. In addition to the new Kubo series, there is also Bleach: The Thousand Years War. In fact, both series will receive important updates. On Bleach it is expected that we will talk about the return of the second part of the anime series, expected towards the end of July 2023, after the conclusion of the first part in December 2022. The same cannot be said about the news related to Burn the Witch.
The animated film debuted in theaters along with the chapters of the manga. But this does not mean that a new anime will be repeated with certainty in the same period of publication of the new chapters. It’s now been three years since the last update on the series, then we have to wait for the arrival of May 28 to be able to know for sure what the future of Burn the Witch will be.
