In the last five years we have seen an exponential growth of some Chinese manufacturers such as Voge, CFMoto, QJMotor and Brixton. It’s an increase not so much in the quantity of vehicles produced each year or in sales, but in the build quality and performance of their bikes. From the small single-cylinder or twin-cylinder engines that came close to 50 HP at most, 800, 1000 and even 1,200 well-built engines began to arrive, capable of being the envy of models from far more famous brands.
Among these we find the Cromwell 1200 in Brixton, a well-built road classic powered by a 1,222 cc parallel twin cylinder rated at 83 bhp and 120 Nm of torque. For all the details and driving impressions, you can find our test here, complete with dyno readings.
The X version now arrives alongside the Cromwell, that gives a nod to white roads thanks to a scrambler set-up that includes slightly knobbed wheels, greater ground clearance, fork with dust gaiters, higher and wider handlebar with crossbar, metal grille to protect the headlight and a steel plate located under the engine. Engine, chassis and chassis remain unchanged.
