Ceremony scheduled for the Europa League final
On Wednesday 31 May at 3 pm the inauguration of a statue dedicated to Arpad Weisz in Budapest. The president of the will also be present BolognaJoey Saputo and the managing director Claudio Fenucci.
As communicated by the rossoblù club on its official website, the minister of the Hungarian Prime Minister Gulyas, the Israeli foreign minister Cohen, the president of the Hungarian Football Federation Csanyi and Saputo himself will take part in the ceremony. The statue is in honor of the former rossoblù coach, born in Solt, in present-day Hungary, in 1896. Of Jewish origins, Weisz was forced to leave Bologna and Italy in 1938 after the enactment of the racial laws. He was deported to Auschwitz with his wife and two children and died inside the Nazi concentration camp.
